My name is Kennedy Thompson and I am 12 years old. Growing up in a family who loves the performing arts, I started my own journey when I began dancing at the age of two. Starting in recreational classes, and then eventually moving into competitive dance, my love for the art blossomed.
My dance training sparked a love of performing, including singing and acting. I was able to put all three passions to use when I was cast as an orphan in NBC's Emmy nominated Annie Live! alongside Taraji P. Henson, Harry Connick Jr., and Nicole Scherzinger. On this project, I was able to dance and sing with some of my idols, but I was also able to dance the choreography of Tony Award winning choreographer, Sergio Trujillo. I've also been cast in commercials, including Old Navy's 2022 campaign "Written by the Internet" choreographed by Emmy nominated choreographer, Christopher Scott.
I was honored to share my love of dance with the country as the Season 1 Winner of CBS’ family dance competition show, Come Dance With Me, executively produced by Chris O’Donnell and LL Cool J. I wouldn’t have been near as successful without the smooth moves and never ending support of my dad, Justin, on this project. You can stream Come Dance with Me on Paramount+.
When I'm not on set, I continue to train in all styles of dance and voice at my home studio under the leadership of Kimberly Rishi and in acting with Brian Carter of the Acting Gym in NYC. I am also the 2021-2022 Tremaine Dance Junior Dancer of the Year and travel the country as a part of the Tremaine Performance Company. I'm grateful for every opportunity I have to touch a stage, as it's amazing practice for the next big opportunity and gives my heart so much joy!
I am so grateful to the people who have helped me grow and are a part of my journey. Thank you to my family and friends for supporting me and my teachers for encouraging and challenging me, and helping to shape me into the performer I am today.
